HEALTHY JOURNEYING 2020

Prior to the first of the Covid-19 lockdowns, the plan for 2020 was similar to 2019 in that a number of events were to be run across the year to encourage people to walk, run, cycle & wheel the distance back from the moon.

Inevitably, the pandemic has had a major impact on these plans and instead it was decided to design an entirely new section of the Ripon Together Website to incorporate a new initiative entitled  'Healthy Journeying'

The website now provides users with a collection of walking & cycling routes that they can try with their families or support bubbles.

The Stages of the project have been outlined below.

Stage 1

Stage 1

  • Drafting Of Ideas

Prior to starting the project, I held an online meeting with a panel of Ripon Together Directors to discuss ideas & potential content.

During the meeting, I drafted a basic wire-frame layout on a piece of A4 paper to help visualise where the final content may go and help design a proposed layout.

Stage 2

  • Conceptual Layouts

Following obtaining the panel's approval and the proposed layout had been agreed, I created a conceptual mockup of the final section using Adobe Indesign.

Stage 3

  • Final Amendments

During a follow up meeting, the panel decided that they would like to replace some of the proposed content with new features.

Whilst still in the meeting, I adapted the layouts to meet the new requirements and the panel signed off the project and authorised work to begin constructing the new section.

Stage 4

  • Construction

The final stage of the project involved converting the proposed layouts into a physical website section.

The new section was then constructed and continues to be updated.
